The Story so far

The beginning

During the 1240’s, the Hanseatic merchants arrived in Bergen with exotic trade goods like fish oil, beer, iron and clothes fabrics. The contact between the Hanseats and the rest of the city’s inhabitants was colored by successful cooperation, but also competition and conflicts. During the Hanseatic time period, most of the farms around Bryggen, had their own “schøtstue”, which was the Hanseatic people’s social meeting point and gathering spaces.

This created the perfect environment for Embracing, by the german vampires aboard some of the trade ships. The next years to come, vampirism blossomed in Bergen, but around the 1300’s, all the original Sires went back to Germany. This was the cause for panic in the vampires of Bergen, and caused a change in their politics. This is why the vampires began creating a society the rest of Norway had not seen the likes of.

Bergen today

Bergen has always upheld the traditions of the Camarilla. That’s the one and only reason the Princes of the other domains, has not imposed themselves on the vampire society in Bergen. The four Families have run Bergen since the 1320’s, when the vampires created this society based on cooperation and lack of prejudice. The families span across clans, and your clan might have very little, to nothing, to do with which family you find yourself belonging to.

The four families were the ones who split Bergen into its 4 parts:

  • Sandviken - Der Adelsstand

  • Bergenhus - Die Armee

  • Nordnes - Die Pflege

  • Møhlenpris - Die Ausdauer

The second inquisition is a real fear in Bergen. Nobody have seen any sign of them as of late, but ever since “the time of the flames” during the 1470’s, when the first inquisition terrorized the streets of Bergen, the fear is very much alive among the survivors of this.
